That’s very surprising. I’ve made this numerous times and it usually only has a very slight beer flavor. Did you change any of the ingredients? Did you cook the sauce until it was bubbly? It will change color when it starts to bubble. Other than a change in ingredients, though, I’m not sure how this could turn out bitter…
